Imagine a government agency ordered Apple to include hashes of all documents they wanted to track into that kiddie porn database. Suddenly the government knows who's got that antivax meme JPG. Or tax protest DOC. Or an environmental report PDF.

And it's just hashes! Apple won't know what they're tracking, so they can't say "no".

Now tell me you honestly believe no government *ever* will take advantage of this invisible monitoring power.

Fun fact: existe un artículo en la Wikipedia titulado "Fiabilidad de Wikipedia"

Esto es transparencia.

Here's a little thing that may not be obvious to many people....

When you install an open-source app from Google Play or the Apple app store, there is no guarantee that what you install actually matches the public code.

@fdroidorg are doing a great service. They independently build the public source code for apps from scratch, review for common issues, and publish their builds. Thanks to "reproducible builds" it's possible to verify they do not tamper with the code.

Amazon arroja a la basura millones de productos en buen estado
La cadena británica ITV News destapó el escándalo en un reportaje realizado en el almacén de Dunfermline (Escocia). Televisores, ordenadores, drones y hasta algún iPad acaban en el vertedero.

My latest Locus Magazine column is "Tech Monopolies and the Insufficient Necessity of Interoperability," an essay about the goal of competition and its handmaiden, interoperability, namely, "technological self-determination."

As someone in my discord server said - “the best way to make politicians anti-facial recognition might be to use it on them”.

When I created those projects under the GPLv3 in Github I did so to help the software stay free as in freedom, not to be feeded into some random commercial numerical model in order to generate further code/derivated works without giving none proper attribution nor the proper license statement.

Github may be abusing my intellectual rights every time Github Copilot generates a code snippet and the ones of everyone who submited GPL or AGPL code to Github.

The fact is clear, not only A/GPL code has been included in the source code of Github Copilot, but also this input is used to generate further code which is both a object form of our code passed by a fancy compiler and a derived work.

If we want the digital rights to prevail we should stand up against this Microsoft abuse using their Github brand.

Windows 11 will only support 8th gen Intel (released in 2017) or newer, AMD Ryzen 2000 (released in 2018) or newer and 2nd gen AMD EPYC server chips (released in 2019) or newer.

Microsoft is also requiring a front-facing camera for all Windows 11 devices, except desktop PCs from January 2023.

Not only is Microsoft now one of the worst unsustainable and biggest e-waste companies, they're now also one of the biggest creeps with no ethics or moral.

Is the year of the Linux coming for real now?
